We have just held our Company 6 monthly review day, which was a really enjoyable event. Every 6 months or so we like to get the whole team together to review our vision and values, review our work, showcase our achievements, and foster collaboration among our talented team. It really was a packed day with lots going on, here are a few of the highlights.
Morning Sessions: Vision, Values, and Technical Presentations
The day kicked off with a review of our vision and values, and a look at how we are doing against our strategic 10-year plan. We also took a moment to celebrate our performance year-to-date, reflecting on the progress we’ve made and the milestones we’ve achieved together.
Following this, the team delivered a number technical presentations that showcased some of our key projects including:
- Environmental Compliance: Our Environment Team provided an insight into their work at the forefront of managing environmental compliance for Phase 1 of HS2. This project exemplifies our commitment to sustainable practices in large-scale infrastructure and our ability to deliver nationally important projects.
- Biodiversity Net Gain Software: Our Tech Development team gave some background in to the development of our in-house developed software that helps assessment and model biodiversity net gain. This innovative tool is designed to help us and our clients effectively measure and enhance biodiversity, aligning with our environmental goals.
- Portfolio Management and Natural Capital: the Natural Environment Team gave our final technical presentation of the day. Demonstrating the work we are doing helping asset managers track and optimise the management of their portfolios for environmental outcomes. The team explained how we can help monitor and manages land for natural capital outcomes and how we are using this information to help our clients address the requirements of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). This session emphasized our strategic approach to integrating sustainability into financial frameworks.
Lunch and Team Building Activities
After an informative morning, we enjoyed a well-deserved lunch, providing a chance to connect with colleagues, chat and share thoughts on the presentations.
After lunch, we help a design thinking exercise, where teams identified an internal business need, envisioned the ideal scenario, and pitched realistic solutions, resulting in some excellent suggestions that will be implemented in the near future.
Pumpkin Carving and Pool Competition
After the brainstorming session, we shifted to some light-hearted team-building activities. As voted for by the Team we had a pumpkin carving session, which brought out our creative sides and resulted in some fantastic designs! 🎃
We also held a pool competition, which added a competitive edge and plenty of laughs. Fraser and Jono honed their skills, whilst Erica and Holly showed us how it’s done. These activities were a great way to strengthen our team bonds and enjoy some time together outside of our usual routines.
Tasty Korean BBQ Dinner
To wrap up the day, we headed to Baekdu, a local Korean BBQ restaurant in Stockport. Sharing a meal together was the perfect way to reflect on the day’s activities, celebrate our successes, and strengthen our connections. The delicious food and warm atmosphere made for a memorable conclusion to a day filled with learning, collaboration, and fun.
As we look back on our Company Day at Envance, we are reminded of the power of teamwork and innovation. With our vision and values at the forefront, we’re excited to continue our journey together, tackling new challenges and seizing opportunities for growth.
